Fiscal Cliff Simplified

It's that easy!

When you sit down to balance your family checkbook, do you decide to get yourself out of debt by spending more money? Of course not! But this is what Obama and his Congress has done.. they continue to spend and raise the limit on their credit card (the debt ceiling)
They have created a debt so enormous, it will be un-payable.

Face it - Keynesian economics has not worked - we cannot borrow and spend ourselves out of this mess.

Time to say NO More!
Time to cut the spending and wasteful entitlements.
Time to end foreign aid and stop sending money to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Time to defund the United Nations.
Time to cut corporate welfare and end bailouts.
Time to End the Fed and institute sound money!
Time to make some sound economic policy.
Time to stop stealing wealth via taxation.
Time to stop funding illegal immigrants and providing lawbreakers with all means of social benefits.

Perhaps we ought to start this by ending Congressional pensions and perks.
Perhaps we ought to start this by ending the growth of government agencies.
Washington is OUT OF CONTROL because all they want is CONTROL!

Why The Chinese Want US "Gun Control"

"Chinese State Media Demands US Citizens Be Disarmed ...The official Chinese government news agency, Xinhua, has demanded the US immediately adopt stricter gun control measures to reduce the number of firearms the US populace is permitted to possess. The Chinese state-controlled media's statement, titled "Innocent Blood Demands No Delay for US Gun Control," is primarily focused on the Newtown tragedy in which 26 Americans were killed by a mad gunman. Twenty of the victims were young children. The Chinese government stated, "Their blood and tears demand no delay for the U.S. gun control." – Breitbart

Well, that's no surprise.
All the more easily for anyone to invade/control the US once the financial collapse hits.

and truly, the Chinese are not the model for how society should be run..their model is Tyrannical, Statist, Repressive and has little regard for the life of its own citizens... so why should we even care  what the Chinese have to say?
Maybe we should demand that the Chinese stop killing their citizens in any number of ways (including forced abortion) - oh, right we have already done that and they ignored us. (wink)

Remember this quote?

But the Daily Bell add their analysis:
Dominant Social Theme: The Chinese are rightfully concerned with US violence.

Free-Market Analysis: The Chinese have weighed in ... Breitbart is reporting that the Chinese government is concerned about US gun violence (see above excerpt). This is notable because it tends to support certain dominant social themes we have noted before.

We do believe that the Chinese, like the Russians and the rest of the BRICs, are part of an effort to create global governance. The British – the City of London being an integral part of this larger effort – virtually ran China and India once upon a time.

While British influence has eroded among the civilian population, chances are the power elite behind past depredations remains quite influential with the political and military class.

There are suppositions that Western powers wanted communism to come to China in the form of Mao because that helped crush China's unique culture and set the stage for the current quasi-capitalism that now engulfs China.

And as we have pointed out recently, both China and the US are converging on a new kind of sociopolitical and economic system that may mimic Germany's National Socialism more than any other political paradigm.

For this reason, we're not surprised top Chinese officials are calling for more gun control in the US. This suits the Chinese system, which is intended, we have no doubt, to more closely merge with European and North American systems over time.

The availability of guns is an impediment to totalitarian, fascism or whatever else the power elite has in mind. Here's more from the Breitbart article:

The Chinese government states:

"The past six months have seen enough shooting rampages in the United States. Just three days ago, three people were shot dead at a shopping mall in Oregon. Two weeks ago, a football player shot his girlfriend dead and then committed suicide. Five months ago, 12 people were killed and 58 wounded in a shooting spree at a midnight screening of a Batman film in Colorado."

The government went on to express a strong dislike of the National Rifle Association while also attacking the Republican Party as somehow complicit in the violence. Conversely, the article heaps praise on the Democratic Party ...

The current Chinese government, the communist People's Republic of China, was established in a revolution led by Mao Zedong, who killed an estimated 40-70 million people with starvation, executions, and re-education camps.

This last point is a very good one. If you are interested in the results of an unarmed populace, look no further than China's Great Leap Forward under Mao.

Whether it is Hitler's Germany or Stalin's Russia, an unarmed population always invites the retaliation of tyrants. And we can also see that gun control does little to reduce violence statistically. Australian officials have been busy disarming their populace but violence is not down appreciably, as it is only law-abiding citizens that allow themselves to be disarmed. Criminals remain armed.

For those who believe as we do in directed history, the specter of aggressive efforts at gun confiscation is not a good sign. Those who are engaged in the promotion of world government are providing us with clear illustrations that they are willing to shed blood to attain it. These individuals and their surrogates practice the philosophy of "the end justifies the means."

But just as importantly, if not more so, the opinion of Chinese officials regarding the positives of US gun control provide us with an insight as to how closely aligned US and Chinese leaders really are when it comes to sociopolitical and economic policies.

The world is being prepared for global government, in our view. The US is being brought down while other countries like the BRICs are being brought up.

The idea that China poses an existential threat to the West is no more convincing, in our view, than the idea that Islam is implacably opposed to Christianity and that a religious war is in the offing.

Conclusion: These are memes of the elite. They are phantasmagoria designed to distract us from the truth that is both more mundane and perhaps more dangerous.
No matter, we MUST NOT Give up our gun rights.
Gun Control is all about CONTROL.

The 2nd Amendment is NOT about hunting.. it IS about safeguarding us all against Tyranny.
We MUST NOT allow the Sandy Hook/Newtown tragedy to be used to further a political agenda which seeks to weaken us and enslave us all to a global governing elite.

Bottomline - if China wants gun control in the US then I am against it - are YOU?

And What About DCF? OR CT Mental Health Agencies?

In wake of this tragedy in Newtown, I demand that every CT State Legislator personally begin a full and thorough investigation into whatever file DCF or the Department of Mental Health has on Adam Lanza!

What did these agencies do, or not do, to deal with this obviously troubled kid?
What did they do, or not do, to help his mother in dealing with him?

I will bet that Adam Lanza and his mother did not receive the proper care and attention from CT Mental Health Services, and I want to know why!

This issue is NOT about guns or whether stricter regulations would have helped.
Clearly more gun laws would not have done a thing!
Had he not gotten his hands on guns, he was smart enough to build a bomb.
He would have gotten the retribution he sought in one way shape or form!
His fear and anger clearly engulfed him.
Laws mattered very little to him.

Adam Lanza broke many laws... everything from stealing lawfully obtained guns, to being underage and using a gun, to transporting them unsecured in a car, to breaking into school property to shooting in a Gun-Free Zone, to murdering innocent people. Everything he did was illegal. Did that stop him? NO!

So what good are these laws?

Adam was a sick individual.
Who was there to help him?
Why could no one prevent this ticking time bomb from exploding?

What a tragedy that this young man could not be helped in a way that prevented him to do what he did. Don't blame the guns... blame the system that failed to reach him!

His rampage was brewing for quite a while.
There must be some record of it in our State Mental Health Agencies!
His mother was about to have him committed.
“From what I've been told, Adam was aware of her petitioning the court for conservatorship and (her) plans to have him committed," Flashman told "Adam was apparently very upset about this. He thought she just wanted to send him away. From what I understand, he was really, really angry. I think this could have been it, what set him off.”

A senior law enforcement official involved in the investigation confirmed that Lanza's anger at his mother over plans for “his future mental health treatment” is being looked at as a possible motive for the deadly shooting.

Flashman was told Nancy Lanza had begun filing paperwork to get conservatorship over her troubled son, but that could not be confirmed because a court official told such records are sealed. The move would have been necessary for her to gain the legal right to commit an adult to a hospital or psychiatric facility against his will. A competency hearing had not yet been held.

It's high time we look at the REAL problem... the failure of our Mental Health System here in CT.
There are many "WHY's" that need to be answered.

No amount of gun bans or restrictive gun laws will keep criminals from perpetrating heinous crimes.
They will obtain illegal guns.
They will use them on people who will be law abiding and unable to protect themselves.
Statistics bear this fact out again and again.
Lawful gun owners should NOT have to pay the price for what criminals do.

What is more frightening is not the many gun owners in our state in in our country, but how many Adam Lanza's are out there just waiting to explode with rage because of the inability of our State Mental Health programs and their Legions of Social Workers to stop them?

The conversation clearly needs to shift away from guns and towards the cause of these crimes.... and that includes the culture of violence in our schools and inner cities along with the carefully nurtured culture of death and the loss of the value of human life to our society at large. You cannot deny that we have become desensitized to violence through our media overall.

Let's have THAT conversation.

British Call To Ban Pointed Kitchen Knives

No - This is NOT from The Onion, but from BBC News!
Britain has banned gun ownership, and violence still occurs there... and now they seek to ban knives
... so this is where the lunacy continues to go!
Accident & Emergency (A&E) doctors are calling for a ban on long pointed kitchen knives to reduce deaths from stabbing.

A team from West Middlesex University Hospital said violent crime is on the increase - and kitchen knives are used in as many as half of all stabbings.

They argued many assaults are committed impulsively, prompted by alcohol and drugs, and a kitchen knife often makes an all too available weapon.

The research is published in the British Medical Journal.

The researchers said there was no reason for long pointed knives to be publicly available at all.

They consulted 10 top chefs from around the UK, and found such knives have little practical value in the kitchen.

None of the chefs felt such knives were essential, since the point of a short blade was just as useful when a sharp end was needed.

The researchers said a short pointed knife may cause a substantial superficial wound if used in an assault - but is unlikely to penetrate to inner organs.

Kitchen knives can inflict appalling wounds

In contrast, a pointed long blade pierces the body like "cutting into a ripe melon".

The use of knives is particularly worrying amongst adolescents, say the researchers, reporting that 24% of 16-year-olds have been shown to carry weapons, primarily knives.

The study found links between easy access to domestic knives and violent assault are long established.

French laws in the 17th century decreed that the tips of table and street knives be ground smooth.

A century later, forks and blunt-ended table knives were introduced in the UK in an effort to reduce injuries during arguments in public eating houses.

The researchers say legislation to ban the sale of long pointed knives would be a key step in the fight against violent crime.

"The Home Office is looking for ways to reduce knife crime.

"We suggest that banning the sale of long pointed knives is a sensible and practical measure that would have this effect."

Government response

Home Office spokesperson said there were already extensive restrictions in place to control the sale and possession of knives.

"The law already prohibits the possession of offensive weapons in a public place, and the possession of knives in public without good reason or lawful authority, with the exception of a folding pocket knife with a blade not exceeding three inches.

"Offensive weapons are defined as any weapon designed or adapted to cause injury, or intended by the person possessing them to do so.

"An individual has to demonstrate that he had good reason to possess a knife, for example for fishing, other sporting purposes or as part of his profession (e.g. a chef) in a public place.

"The manufacture, sale and importation of 17 bladed, pointed and other offensive weapons have been banned, in addition to flick knives and gravity knives."

A spokesperson for the Association of Chief Police Officers said: "ACPO supports any move to reduce the number of knife related incidents, however, it is important to consider the practicalities of enforcing such changes."

This is Insanity
It makes absolutely no sense at all.
And if we allow it to, it will also come to America.

Guns, knives, etc.etc. are NOT the problem in violent crimes... sick criminal minds are the problem!

Newtown Shooting Prompts Media Induced Gun Grabbing Sentiment

As Rahm Emanuel once said, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste"

While we all begin to mourn and process the tragic events and devastating loss of innocent life at a Newtown, CT elementary school because of a very sick individual, there are a few things that really need to be said and noted.

The anti-gun brainwashing on the media is in full force.
The news reports are now unabashedly non-stop and biased against guns and gun ownership.
They are purposefully implanting fear and hatred into the viewers' heads, carefully using the images of this tragic event to further the anti-gun agenda.

However, this whole incident has nothing whatsoever to do with legal gun ownership, nor does it have anything to do with the accessibility or types of guns being legally sold to the public!

The truth of the matter is that a very sick person stole guns from a law abiding gun owner... and then shot his way into an elementary school and killed many innocent people.
We should be asking WHY did he do this!?

Any of the gun control laws that Statist and Leftists gun grabbers are proposing would not have stopped this terrible tragedy from happening!

CT already has pretty stern gun laws.
One does not merely walk into a store and buy a gun.
One has to pass background checks.
One has to obtain a gun permit to own a handgun, and that is an involved and time consuming endeavor.
One has to secure their firearms in their home... and Mrs. Lanza won't ever go to jail for not doing this because she is already dead.

Adam Lanza illegally had and used these guns.. and he won't go to jail for this crime because he is also already dead.

All of the rhetoric coming out of the media, the White House and the local State gun grabbing legislators is just that... rhetoric...rhetoric to promote their gun control agenda.... along with lots of hand wringing and screaming and orchestrated "tears" to stir the population into an anti-gun and fear mongering frenzy!

The truth of the matter is that the Second Amendment, gun ownership, and gun owners are NOT to blame for this tragedy.

We are being barraged by media reports now of the details of Adams life - and his mother's life... as the media begins to almost gleefully point out that Adam was a homeschooled kid - a loner - whose mother was a "prepper" - and lived in a big rich home. It is interesting to me that all of the things that the Left deems "odd" and "strange" or "bad" are now being actively and even subtly demonized now in order to brainwash the listeners of cable news into fearing people who own guns, or who may be preparing for an economic collapse, or who may have decided that homeschooling is a better alternative to government schooling. You see, they (the media) want you to fear these people.

So now, the Left is fully using this "crisis" to it's full potential - to bring about gun bans... and they are doing it in a way to make it sound like pro-2A people are pro-violence. They want to make it sound like 2A supporters are O.K. with this type of tragedy.  Well, I am NOT O.K. with this type of tragedy... but I am also NOT O.K. with Statists trying to eliminate my right to keep and bear arms!

We've seen that gun control is NOT about the guns.... it's about Statist CONTROL

FACT: The gun is not the is what is in the heart of the criminal that is the problem.. Let's address the culture of violence and not the guns!!

More gun laws and gun bans and ammunition bans are NOT the solution here!!

We ought to be investigating WHY Adam Lanza did this - it wasn't because he was homeschooled and it wasn't because his mother was a prepper and it wasn't because he came from a well to do home! (Interestingly enough, his dad, just like the Aurora shooter's dad was a finance guy - I wonder what that's about! There seem to be many similarities in these two cases.)

It's truly tragic what happened in Newtown... but the solution is NOT to remove second amendment rights or "infringe" on lawful gun ownership. All of the law abiding gun owners in this country need not be punished for the actions of some sick guy who chose to murder innocent children.

Where was the security in this Newtown School?
If schools are truly to be gun free zones then perhaps they ought to be checking on what people are bringing into their schools.
How did they allow this guy in with what he was carrying on him?
Once this guy got into the school, why was there not a way to stop him from his rampage?
The principal was talking to him in her office with the PA system on... could nothing else be done before this guy began killing?

Personally, I think there was something more behind this story and I would like to know what drugs this guy was on. I want to know who were the last people he was in contact with prior to this happening. I want to know why he was stirred into doing this heinous crime... or who may have prompted him to do this.

Maybe we ought to be punishing the drug companies for creating medicated delusional individuals... or punishing Hollywood for creating a culture of violence...there is plenty of blame to go around when these things happen... and one thing I know is that it isn't the fault of law abiding gun owners or gun makers.. the other thing I know is that criminals do NOT obey knee-jerk reaction laws that are meant to prevent these tragedies, and the other thing I know is that no gun law being proposed by gun grabbing lawmakers now would have prevented this from happening.

Adam Lanza was an unfortunate sick individual and he DID NOT follow current gun laws in the State of CT.

More gun laws would not have stopped him from doing harm.

Case in point: Knife Attack at Chinese School

My prayers are with the families and victims of this awful tragedy in Newtown.
May we all work to create a more peaceful culture - one that respects life and our G-d given rights, which also includes our right to defend ourselves from any and all harm.

Freedom Of Speech? Not As Far As The UN Is Concerned

Nathaniel Sugarman, Law Clerk for the Legal Project at the MEF, wrote this article for American Thinker - December 9, 2012 - which deserves some attention with regard to Freedom of Speech... it outlines a very good reason why we need to run away from the United Nations and any of the nonsensical treaties and conventions that it is cooking up.
This week, the United States meets with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in London to discuss whether speaking about religion can violate international law. The meeting represents round three of the "Istanbul Process," an effort Secretary of State Hillary Clinton launched in July 2011 in the eponymous Turkish city. The initiative's goal is to implement non-binding UN Human Rights Council Resolution 16/18, which itself calls for the criminalization of various forms of speech concerning religion. The OIC, an association of 56 Islamic member states and the Palestinian Authority, represents the largest voting bloc in the United Nations.

The renewed Istanbul Process talks come just a month after a UN official urged the United States to combat racism by adopting a "solid legal framework" for regulating internet speech. In a November 5, 2012 address to the General Assembly, UN Special Rapporteur Mutama Ruteere recommended that countries take steps to combat "racial hatred," which include adopting "legislative measures" to address the problem. These measures, according the rapporteur, should be in compliance with "international human rights standards." Special Rapporteurs are UN-appointed officials assigned to research a particular issue and report back to the organization with their findings. In his report, Mr. Ruteere specifically identified the United States as a country that should consider new legislation targeting internet hate speech.

Why should the United States be concerned with the rapporteur's recommendations regarding internet speech regulation? After all, "freedom of expression and opinion," according to the report, should not be impeded by any of the new proposed "measures." And why be concerned about the Istanbul Process? It seems to merely condemn incitement, which the United States does not protect in any case.

An answer requires closer examination of the terms of art used by the respective parties.

Resolution 16/18 calls for criminalization of "incitement to imminent violence based on religion or belief," and it "condemns... any advocacy of religious hatred against individuals that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence." At first glance, this language does not seem restrictive; even in the U.S., incitement is not a protected form of speech. The issue is the respective ways in which the U.S. and the OIC define "incitement." U.S. Courts use a content-based test to determine whether speech is incitement (See: Brandenburg v. Ohio). Brandenburg, which is still the law, ruled that in order for speech to be unprotected as incitement, the speech must (1) intend to produce imminent lawless action, and must be (2) likely to produce such action. In other words, there is both a subjective and objective prong, both concerning the speech itself. By contrast, the OIC endorses a "test of consequences," which punishes speech based not on its content, but based on the result. This is a completely subjective test, and fails to consider the words uttered by the speaker, focusing only on the reaction of others. How would this play out in practice? Violence claimed to be in response to cartoons of Muhammad, could, under the OIC's definition, retroactively define the cartoons as incitement. Surely, this framework is in direct conflict with U.S. law.

The rapporteur's suggestions regarding internet hate speech regulation also conflict with U.S. law upon closer examination. While various European laws limit the nebulous concept of "racist" or "hateful" speech, in the United States, hate speech remains constitutionally protected. The issue here is that the UN's recommendations do not suggest a required compliance with U.S. constitutional norms, but rather "international human rights standards," a mean of myriad laws that would necessarily afford less protection than would U.S. legal standards. For example, Denmark, France and the Netherlands all have statutes prohibiting "hate" speech, that is, speech which in various ways involves the target's race or religious practice. The case could therefore be made that insulting a person based on their race or religion does indeed violate international human rights standards. However, punishing this type of conduct in the United States would violate the First Amendment. Again, as with the Istanbul Process, this creates a direct conflict between U.S. and international law.

The Istanbul Process and the move to regulate internet speech, in addition to creating conflicts between U.S. and international law, also represent a departure from the policies of past U.S. administrations. In both 1980 and 1992, Presidents Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush signed, respectively, the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, but both times with the important reservation that these Conventions shall not in any way impede the protections of the First Amendment.

In perhaps the most famous case directly pitting U.S. law against international law, Medellin v. Texas, the Supreme Court ruled that U.S. law controls. In that 2008 case, the Mexican government attempted to stop the State of Texas from executing Medellin, a Mexican national. Mexico had abolished capital punishment; Texas had, and still has, not done so. The court applied Texas law and the state executed the convicted rapist and murderer. Justice Roberts articulated the rule that not all international law obligations automatically constitute binding federal law enforceable in U.S. courts. In other words, the United States dictates United States law, not international entities.

Some may argue that international law is merely advisory as far as the U.S. is concerned, and that the U.S. will follow U.S. law, as it has done in the past. But the United States is not a jurisprudential island unto itself. In Lawrence v. Texas, Justice Kennedy's majority opinion cited to international law, including decisions by the European Court of Human Rights. Lawrence was a landmark case for civil liberty and personal freedom. The Court ruled that the 14th Amendment Right to Due Process protects overt expression of intimate conduct with another consenting adult, regardless of gender, in the privacy of one's home. Although many consider the result of Lawrence to be a victory for free speech, the decision did rely on international law norms in coming to its ruling. The risk is that if international standards governing speech are codified, either by way of internet hate speech regulation, or agreements not to defame Islam, those norms could eventually trickle into U.S. law.

It cannot be overstated that since the U.S. is truly an outlier in regards to how much speech is protected by law, any international norm will necessarily be less protective of speech than the First Amendment standard. The Legal Project believes that rather than endorsing restrictive international speech codes, the U.S. should be promoting the idea that the right to speak freely is far more important than the right to be free from criticism and offense.

More than ever we need to defund the United Nations and halt any move to cede our rights and sovereignty to a global governance... especially where free speech is concerned.

Gold !!

Since this won't come again for another 100 years I thought it nice to commemorate the time!

The date is 12/12/12.
It's the last triple-digit day of the century.

Interesting facts:
It is the smallest number with exactly six divisors.
The number 12 can be evenly divided into halves, thirds, fourths, sixths, and twelfths.
That is what makes a dozen a very convenient number.
12 x 12 = 144 = 1 gross.
So... 3 x 4, 6 x 8, etc. are very convenient storage and packaging dimensions.

A group of twelve things is called a duodecad.

There are 12 days of Christmas, 12 apostles, and 12 Federal Reserve Districts.
The human body has twelve cranial nerves.
Jacob had 12 sons, and so there were 12 tribes of Israel.
In the King Arthur Legend, Arthur is said to have subdued 12 rebel princes and to have won 12 great battles against Saxon invaders.

Force 12 on the Beaufort wind force scale corresponds to the maximum wind speed of a hurricane.

Twelve is a pretty big deal in religion, science and mythology.

So, Happy 12/12/12!

Hope you do something fun today!

America's Secret Weapon - The H1B Visa

Dr. Michio Kaku says that our education system is so bad that the only reason our scientific community hasn't collapsed is because of the importation of foreign students... H1B Visas have been our secret weapon.

I may not agree with Dr. Kaku's philosophy on globalist governance, but he is correct on this point regarding the abysmal state of our education system. The truth is that the American education system has systematically been dumbing down our kids ever since the introduction of the Prussian education model.. read John Taylor Gatto's books and you will see why and how that happened.

We now have colleges teaching remedial classes for heavens sake! You shouldn't even BE in college if you need remedial education!

We now have high schools that do not teach geometric proofs... or logic... and now we have "educators" who believe that higher mathematics is useless for most people.

What is going on in most government schools is criminal. The environment is completely and utterly toxic - especially in the inner cities. The education process is choked by unions with precious monetary resources going towards administration costs and very little of it actually being spent on the tools for children to use for learning. Art and Science, Ethics, Civics, and History have been erased from the school day and have been replaced with Social Twaddle like Diversity Training, Group Think and Globalist nonsense. English? Forget teaching children how to properly write, read or speak.. which is why these kids need remedial training once they hit college. It's an absolute shame, and a true disgrace to this nation.

It really does seem that our only hope is in free thinking homeschooled children who are not told by the state what to read and what to think and who are not dumbed down by a Progressive agenda.

Until we make some REAL education reforms, which apparently won't come about thanks to education unions and government standards, we will have to rely on H1B Visa students to do the necessary scientific research in our universities.

But hey, at least American kids can work cash registers that tell them how much change to give back to the customers.... that is if they can find such a job... and if not, they can always work for the government.

Those Jobs Numbers Really Aren't So Good Afterall

Oh... so for those people still believing in "Green Shoots" - we've got a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn too. penned a nice article
explaining the ugly truth about those November job numbers:
Economy: A rip-roarer for job creation and a major drop in the unemployment rate. At least, that's how the mainstream media sum up November's job numbers. But scratch the data and a different story surfaces.

A lot of pundits thought the November jobs data were pretty good, with 146,000 new jobs and a drop in unemployment to 7.7%. But look closer, and you see recession mode.

With nonfarm payrolls swelling by 146,000 and the jobless rate easing from 7.9% to 7.7%, November looked pretty good to many pundits. But the underlying trends aren't so favorable, and the future, with a slowing economy about to drive off a fiscal cliff, isn't bright at all.

Start with payroll jobs. The 146,000 wasn't awful, but to make a serious dent in joblessness, we need to add at least 200,000 a month for a prolonged period. In this poisoned atmosphere for business, that won't happen.

Since 2011, businesses have added about 151,000 jobs a month. But since June that's slowed to just 139,000. We're clearly going the wrong way.

And by the way, remember those big payroll gains in September and October, right before the election? Forget it. The Labor Department has revised down its job estimates for those two months by 49,000.

OK, but we still have private-sector job growth, right? Not really. In the last six months, 621,000 of the 847,000 new jobs created have been in government, not the private sector, according to That's 73% of all jobs — not a healthy labor market.

As for that big "drop" in the unemployment rate, all of it was due to the fact that 540,000 Americans are no longer looking for work. They either dropped out, took early disability or retired. Since the start of 2009, 9.7 million Americans have fallen into this category.

All told, more than 24 million Americans who want jobs don't have them, driving the labor force participation rate to 63.6%, just above August's 31-year low of 63.5%. This is the worst labor market in a recovery ever.

And it may get worse. The quarterly Wells Fargo/Gallup small-business survey found that 21% plan to cut jobs over the next six months — a surge from 10% last June and a record high.

IBD's own research shows that small businesses account for nearly 80% of all new job creation in America. A small-business slump means no jobs. It's that simple.

Why is the labor market refusing to recover as it has in the past, with millions of new jobs each year amid rapid economic growth? In a word, Obamanomics.

Thanks to ObamaCare, "stimulus" spending of $860 billion, threats of higher tax rates on small business owners and entrepreneurs, the economy's going nowhere. We may soon enter a new small-business recession that can be blamed on no one but Barack Obama.
Of course one must also understand the government's skewed definition of unemployment.. which does not include people who have given up looking for jobs .. one commenter to this article said, "540,000 Americans are no longer looking for work. They either dropped out, took early disability or retired. Since the start of 2009, 9.7 million Americans have fallen into this category."

and yet another commenter added, "The seasonably adjusted U-6 metric -- that is, the total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force -- was 14.4 percent."

That's pretty sobering news.

...and there are a record number of people on food stamps, disability and other entitlement programs.

Thanks to Obamacare mandates, there will be plenty of companies laying off employees and even more who will cut hours to avoid the mandates.

Green Shoots?
More like a crock of.... well, you know.

Happy Hannukah!

The Jewish Festival of Hannukah begins at sundown tonight. Happy Hannukah to those of you who celebrate, and may this season bring you and your loved ones health, happiness, peace and prosperity.

Hannukah is a celebration of the Jewish victory over the Assyrian Greeks. The Greeks persecuted the Jews, the Jews resisted, and we are still here today to talk about it.
The Maccabees

Before his death, Mattityahu called his sons together and urged them to continue to fight in defense of G-d’s Torah. He asked them to follow the counsel of their brother Shimon the Wise. In waging warfare, he said, their leader should be Judah the Strong. Judah was called "Maccabee," a word composed of the initial letters of the four Hebrew words Mi Kamocha Ba’eilim Hashem, "Who is like You, O G-d."

Antiochus sent his General Apolonius to wipe out Yehuda and his followers, the Maccabees. Though greater in number and equipment than their adversaries, the Syrians were defeated by the Maccabees. Antiochus sent out another expedition which also was defeated. He realized that only by sending a powerful army could he hope to defeat Judah and his brave fighting men.

An army consisting of more than 40,000 men swept the land under the leadership of two commanders, Nicanor and Gorgiash. When Judah and his brothers heard of that, they exclaimed: "Let us fight unto death in defense of our souls and our Temple!" The people assembled in Mitzpah, where Samuel, the prophet of old, had offered prayers to G-d. After a series of battles the war was won.

And there is also the story of Miracle of the Hannukah... and why it is the Festival of Lights.
Hannukah Miracle (139 BCE)

On the 25th of Kislev in the year 3622 from creation, the Maccabees liberated the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, after defeating the vastly more numerous and powerful armies of the Syrian-Greek king Antiochus IV, who had tried to forcefully uproot the beliefs and practices of Judaism from the people of Israel. The victorious Jews repaired, cleansed and rededicated the Temple to the service of G-d. But all the Temple's oil had been defiled by the pagan invaders; when the Jews sought to light the Temple's menorah (candelabra), they found only one small cruse of ritually pure olive oil. Miraculously, the one-day supply burned for eight days, until new, pure oil could be obtained. In commemoration, the Sages instituted the 8-day festival of Chanukah, on which lights are kindled nightly to recall and publicize the miracle.

The eight-day festival of Hannukah begins tonight. In commemoration of the miracle of the oil we light the Hannukah lights -- oil lamps or candles -- each evening for eight days, increasing the number of lights each evening.

Tonight, the first night of Hannukah, we kindle one light.

So.. have some latkes (potato pancakes fried in oil) with sour cream or apple sauce, play a game of dreidel, and enjoy!

חנוכה שמח

Enjoy this one too! (I love this one from Tom Lehrer!)

Taxing The Rich... and Other Comments

To avoid the "Fiscal Cliff":

I found this quote on Facebook and thought I would share it....
The richest of the rich in the United States according to the IRS are people with incomes of $10 million dollars or more per year. You know the basketball players, the Hollyweird actors and actresses, the Bill Gates and Warren Buffets of America, and, according to Obama, the super "greedy" and "selfish" CEO's of large corporations. According to the IRS, in 2009 that list consisted of 8,274 people with incomes, not net worth, of $10 million dollars or more per year. Now if you combined their earnings and taxed them at a rate of 100 percent a year what would you get? That's right, I said you tax every last penny they make for the year and what would you get? The answer is $240 billion dollars. That wouldn't even cover the interest on the national debt! The government spends roughly $4 billion dollars a day. At that rate the $240 billion dollars you collected from the super-rich would be gone in 65 days!

If you went back 2000 years to the time of Jesus and spent one million dollars a day until now that would still be less than the $787 billion dollar stimulus package that Obama passed under a Democrat controlled Congress the first few weeks he was in office.

According to the IRS roughly 227,000 people earned one million dollars or more in 2009. Even if you collected all the income from all of them including the billionaires at a tax rate of 100 percent you still wouldn't even come close to balancing the budget or paying off the $1 trillion-plus dollar deficits that Obama has given the country every year he has been in office. Now does everybody see Obamanomics is a complete and utter failure and why the U.S. economy is headed for collapse???!!!

Consider for a moment that the U.S. Government now spends $100,000 every second of every day. Consider that our government borrows $40,000 dollars every second of every day. In other words, our government has to borrow $0.41 cents of every dollar it spends. By the end of his first term, President Obama added as much debt as ALL the prior 43 presidents COMBINED!!!

That is pretty sobering.

So really, all this talk about taxing the rich is nothing more than Socialist class warfare propaganda.

What we really ought to be talking about is drastically paring down government spending as well as the overall size of government
- Whole agencies and cabinet posts need to be eliminated.
- Foreign aid needs to be stopped.
- Entitlement spending needs to be curtailed.

Check out this visual:

As for Congressman Boehner and his "fight" with fiscal Conservatives in the House, and his "punishing" them by stripping them of committee posts (Please click on the link and watch the video!), well, Boehner is a co-conspirator in this fiscal cliff mess... he makes a big fuss and acts like he is all against raising debt ceilings and fighting tax hikes... but in truth he will always fold like a cheap shirt. His actions are worthy of Kabuki theater (and you may recall that the performances on the Kabuki stage were highly dramatized and strangely bizarre.. and so it is in Washington)

In my opinion, Speaker of the House Boehner is a traitor and will substantially contribute to the further demise of this economy as he also continues to destroy the GOP. In the next Congressional election cycle he should be primaried and summarily dumped.

More on class warfare here.

Bob Costas Anti-Gun Tirade

You have probably heard that Sportscaster/Commentator Bob Costas decided to rant about the Jovan Belcher shooting event during Sunday's Football half-time and went on about the evils of guns, the "gun culture" and other liberal gun control drivel.

For starters, it was really inappropriate for Costas to use this tragedy to advance his liberal agenda especially during a sports program. Political commentary is really misplaced during a sports broadcast. But, ok, so he felt compelled to open his yap and use his air time to advance an anti-gun agenda. He used his 1st amendment rights to bash our 2nd amendment rights. He won't lose his job over it either.

The problem is that Costas' suppositions are completely false. Costas thinks that if Belcher didn't possess a gun, he and Perkins would still be alive. That is utter nonsense. Belcher would have found another means to commit murder since he was hell bent on doing it... and it is clear that he was not in his right mind. The weapon he used really just became the tool to carry out his crime. He could have used a bow and arrow (like the fellow who just murdered his father in a classroom) or a knife (as in Nicole Simpson's case) or a baseball bat. Should we ban knives, bow and arrows, etc. etc?

And what of automobiles? Surely more people die from automobile incidents than gun shot wounds in a given year. We should probably ban cars and car ownership. (Especially for that woman who ran over her husband on purpose).  And what about choking deaths??? Should we ban food too?

You see - guns are merely tools - like ropes or hammers, both of which can also be used to kill someone.
What we ought to be focusing on is WHY Belcher committed this crime... the gun itself was not to blame.
I am interested as to why Costas did not mention the thuglife culture which surrounds people like Belcher... or even the violent TV shows that his own network airs.
I am interested to know why Costas didn't mention what kind of drugs Belcher may have been taking which would have compromised rational thought. No. He lays blame totally with Belcher having a gun.

And I do know ... at least what I really feel is happening here - is that the media and people like Costas are trying now to step up the brainwashing of Americans to be anti-gun and to magnify the issue of gun violence.. WHY? .. Well, because they are very concerned about the record gun sales going on in this country by LAW ABIDING and PERMITTED individuals.

And of course if guns were banned, only criminals and the government would have guns. I see a problem there... don't you?

To be clear, this is not about hunting.. or shooting sports... or even about self protection in the possibility of home invasions.
This is totally about the progressive liberal (AKA Socialist/Communist) agenda to disarm Americans in this country.

All you have to know is that the first thing the ruling class of a dictatorship does - as in the case of Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler and Mao - is to disarm the population. They do this under the guise of "protecting" citizens (etc. etc.). They want a citizenry that is powerless. It is all about control.

The Obama administration, and their media lapdogs, are working hard to sway public opinion against the second amendment and against legal gun ownership. There is no doubt in my mind that they are very invested in disarming the population and in this instance Bob Costas was merely the mouthpiece. In true liberal form, you never let a crisis or tragic event like this shooting to go to waste.

To be sure, the anti-gun crowd is going to frame this debate in such a way as to make their opposition sound like they support gun violence. People who support the 2nd amendment will just have to find a way to combat that type of spin and media brainwashing.

You can be certain of one thing - there are millions of gun owners in this country that are NOT going to allow themselves to be disarmed. EVER.
